Yvonne has 27 years experience of the access sector working on jobs in countryside, recreation, conservation, heritage, tourism and visitor management. Yvonne has a national profile in the area of improving access to the countryside and other recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and for her ability to facilitate effective groups and to engage with local communities. As well as working as a consultant and facilitator Yvonne is a skilled and experienced trainer.

She has carried out feasibility, training and audit work on improving access to parks, countryside sites, and services for people with disabilities for many organisations including the Scottish Natural Heritage, a national trail, local authorities, national parks, and water company. She has worked with The Access Company on training for ROWIP officers and LAF members. Currently she is working for the Countryside Council for Wales on presenting information on the accessibility of NNRs. Other recent work has included 7 Access and Audience Development Plans, an evaluation of interpretation for Loch Lomond National Park and facilitation of an Action Learning set for voluntary sector managers.

Yvonne previously worked as a Project Manager for BT Countryside for All with the Fieldfare Trust, was Head of Training at the Centre for Environmental Interpretation for 6 years and was a lecturer in countryside skills in Scotland. Earlier jobs also included working as a chief warden, countryside ranger and leisure manager. She still finds time to run walking holidays for walkingwomen.

When not working Yvonne can usually be found walking in the mountains, cycling, playing badminton or doing yoga ( and drinking some wine ). She also enjoys the city life that Manchester, her adopted home town, has to offer.
