Bronwen has been working to promote and provide for sustainable transport choices for the last 10 years. With a multidisciplinary background in architecture, sociology and transport and experience working in both government and business, Bronwen brings a unique breadth of vision and understanding to her work.
She is a strategic thinker and writer, developing strategic transport policy and best practice and producing key documents such as the Queensland Cycle Strategy (Australia) and a National Walking Action Plan for the UK. As an expert facilitator and trainer, she has run professional training and community workshops in Australia, Britain and Canada. Bronwen also has on-street experience undertaking walkability audits, reviewing transport and urban designs and masterplans and negotiating positive outcomes for communities.
She is committed to engaging with people about their neighbourhoods, to developing best practice and professional expertise and to inspiring and informing government decision making.
Bronwen is Development Director with Walk21 and is responsible for extending the reach of the international conference series through a range of innovative projects and consultancy services. In partnership with Green Communities Canada, she has led the Walkability Roadshow as part of the Toronto 2007 Conference and is looking forward to future plans including the European Pedestrian Masterclass.
In her previous post as Consultancy Services Manager for Living Streets she led Community Street Audits across the UK from small rural villages to the centre of London. She also developed a range of new products and services to support professionals responsible for providing for walkers and to encourage more people to choose to walk.
Bronwen lives in London, which she is rediscovering through the eyes of her small son, and loves to get away and spend time with her extended family in the hills, forests and rivers of west England and Wales.
