Policy Advice

Our advice on policy is – have a good one!

Good policies are based on sound evidence. They are aspirational, yet realistic, easy to understand, and to follow.

Can you think of any like that? We can – we’ve written them!

Sometimes all you need is another person to discuss ideas with, other times you need help collecting evidence, or looking into what has worked or failed in other places. We are that person! We’ll even write the policy document for you, or carry out consultation, or generally help in whatever way we can.

Some examples include:

• We provided strategic advice and case study work for ‘Sense and Accessibility’ and ‘Paths without Prejudice’.
• We’ve helped several bodies develop marketing policies.
• We worked with the Countryside Agency on developing a National Trail Policy.
• We made recommendations to the Countryside Agency to help them develop a monitoring policy.
• We worked with the City of York Council to ensure their ROWIP addressed the needs of all users.

We’ve also provided one–off advice to people struggling to get their heads round tricky subjects – we like talking, if you need help give us a ring.
