Accessibility audit
Client: Warwickshire County Council
Summary:
WCC had created 3 trails to improve access to a popular country park. They needed to know if the Trails met the requirements of the DDA, and of the target user groups, and if any changes were recommended to increase inclusivity.
The problem:
WCC manage 3 'easy going' Trails in a popular country park. They wanted to know :
- if any works are needed to comply with the DDA, in particular regarding gates locked with RADAR keys.
- if any other works are recommended to improve the routes and make them more accessible to more people.
Our input:
We audited the 3 routes identifying :
- any essential improvements
- any desired improvements
- we produced a report detailing exactly what should be done immediately, what shoudl be given a high priority, and what improvements should be considered when items are repaired or replaced.
The result:
WCC have all the information at hand to increase access to the country park.
